Lina Lev investigated nine months researching in Portugal, Austria and Germany about the significance of spirituality in normal everyday life of Western citizens in contrast to living in spiritual communities. Can one’s own daily practice ever replace the status of a sangha, a spiritual community, or even come close to that experience? What needs to be found outside, which is already within? The research examines the relationship between individual and universal in form of dance and poetry – dealing with questions about truth and the transition between cultures. In this research words, paintings and poems got a main source and inspiration for improvisation.
IIn addition Lina Lev searched for possibilities of spiritual gatherings in western society. She enjoyed studying lifes of communities and observed various movement languages, as well as the process of convergence of different living realities into one organism. How do bodies react to each other, how does the negotiation of needs work through body language and how do people enter into dialogue with their bodies? These questions included a focus on rituals and healing ceremonies, as much as merging past and future into the present moment. She shared her insights with public in form of open workshops and retreats, guided by the idea of encouring community building.
Research in Portugal (Yurt), Austria (INTER-SEIN) and Germany (INTER-ACTIONS) between July 2022 and March 2023.
