The danceWEB Scholarship Programme 2021 took place from July 14 to August 18 as part of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival. The programme welcomed 46 participants from 28 countries, all selected by the 2020/2021 Artistic Committee and the Programme’s mentors, who were guided by Sara Lanner and Lina Lev. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ImPulsTanz Festival 2020 was cancelled, and the selected participants were granted places in this year’s festival.

The 2021 mentoring team featured the Viennese French choreographer and performer Anne Juren, alongside the Sweden-based French dancer and choreographer Frédéric Gies. Anne Juren is widely recognized for her work as a choreographer, dancer, and performer. Frédéric Gies, whose piece “Tribute” was presented in collaboration with the Swedish Weld Company, draws inspiration from the techno and rave scenes as well as somatic practices, a combination they refer to as “Technosomatics.”
